My Favorite Fall Makeup Look

Image
This season I have had one particular makeup trend that I have been OBSESSED with. And that is the Dark Cranberry Eye. I have just absolutely fallen in love with that color. I think it REALLY makes blue and green eyes pop which is probably why I'm so obsessed with it.  My go to when creating this look is always the same. A really deep matte cranberry on the lid smoked out with a burnt orange and a pop of sparkle on the inner corner.  I always pair this bold eye look with a nude lip and strong highlighter.  The above look was created by the lovely and talented Naomi Cormack (who's Instagram I've linked) in Inglot. I went in knowing exactly what I wanted and being very very particular and she created it perfectly for me! All products used were of course Inglot and there were honestly too many to list or remember. It's the kind of look that as long as you have the shades and the pigment, anyone can create it.
I recreated the look at home myself using the NYX Beauty Sch…

Marks and Spencer Beauty Advent Calendar 2017

Image
It has been a week since the launch of the Marks and Spencer Beauty Advent Calendar and it's been quite a week!!! 'Tis the season to treat your loved ones but we all get so caught up in the hustle and bustle of Christmas working extra hours, planning the perfect gifts and just getting ready in general! It's important we remind ourselves that we need a little TLC and it's okay to treat ourselves!! What better way than with a Beauty Advent Calendar!!! Gone are the days of opening the little cardboard door and seeing what shape little chocolate you got. It's the 21st century and we have certainly upped our advent calendar game!!
Imagine coming home from a long day of work or college, you got drenched in the rain, missed your bus, forgot your lunch and your phone died. It totally wasn't your day. But imagine how much better your day would be if you came home to a nice little treat whether it be skincare or beauty related!! You could give yourself a face mask or g…

REVIEW: Pur Cosmetics Bare it All Foundation

Image
Hello, my lovlies!!! I'm back with an honest af review. Perfect foundations are really hard to come by and and I am fortunate enough to be able to try out a few different foundations before purchasing to ensure it sits well on my skin and does exactly what I want it to do! Going to work, on days when I'll be running around and still want to look super on fleek, on special occasions or nights out, I want something super full coverage. I have dehydrated skin but can become quite oily throughout the day so it's pretty difficult for me to find a foundation that doesn't end up getting super oily at some point. I've tried SO MANY cruelty free foundations including high end ones from the likes of Kat Von D and Tarte (some of which I like and dislike) but I have yet to find something that keeps me matte throughout the day and doesn't slip and slide.... Until I tried Pur Cosmetics Bare it All Foundation!!!  It's a 12 hour wear 4 in 1 foundation. I'm gonna inclu…

Living with Depression and Anxiety

This is a post that I went back and forth with about writing. It's obviously a very personal topic but I want something positive to come from my experience. If I can help or impact just one person then writing this post will be worth it. The best way I can think of doing this is through a timeline so I'm going to start from the beginning up until now.

Just a quick disclaimer that I feel obliged to include: This post is in no way attention seeking or pity seeking. I merely want to 1) explain my absence and 2) use my experience to help people perhaps understand what it's like to have depression and anxiety and maybe help anyone who themselves are going through it.

Without any further rambling, here's my journey with depression and anxiety so far...

October/November: The Symptoms
During this time I had begun to feel symptoms that I would soon find out were all related to depression and severe anxiety.
When I was 14, I was bullied in school and isolated from friends and had…

Blog Relaunch // Where Have I been?

Welcome to the relaunch of Sequins and Secrets!!! As you can see I've made some new changes around here so I hope y'all can make yourself comfortable! You're probably all thinking I'm the worst blogger around for being MIA for so long but I'm hoping to turn a new page and start fresh!  If you're wondering where I've been and why I haven't been posting for so long, there will be a blogpost to come explaining everything.
With the blog relaunch, I'm using this opportunity to widen the aspects of the blog and include features on topics non beauty or fashion related. You might find it informational and interesting. I'm just using this platform to at least reach one person and perhaps help them and impact them in a positive way. While I've been away in the meantime, I recently uploaded my very first makeup and hair tutorial on YouTube which I will link right here >>>> My YouTube Channel Until the next post I hope you enjoy my YouTube …

My Fun Hair Color Journey

Image
Since I was about 15 I LOVED dying my hair fun rainbow colors. I've been blonde since birth and sometimes get sick of it so I like having some fun different hair every so often to shake things up.  As I'm sure all of you can tell from the blog, my fav color is pink. 90% of the things I own are pink. I'm actually wearing pink as I type this.

When I was about 15 I was finally allowed to dye my hair a fun color. The only thing my mom would let me do was get a little streak and at the the time I was a big fan of Avril Lavigne so I got her classic pink streak from the back in the day.
These are the best photos I have to show you. Let's please not judge 15 year old Emily.
This ended up being a little bit of a disaster. I had gotten it done in the States at a beauty school. It was a spur of the moment kind of thing.  Whatever temporary dye they used, It actually ended up permanently staining my hair for about two years.  So, I had a GINGER streak in my hair for two years. No…
