My Favorite Fall Makeup Look

Image
This season I have had one particular makeup trend that I have been OBSESSED with. And that is the Dark Cranberry Eye. I have just absolutely fallen in love with that color. I think it REALLY makes blue and green eyes pop which is probably why I'm so obsessed with it.  My go to when creating this look is always the same. A really deep matte cranberry on the lid smoked out with a burnt orange and a pop of sparkle on the inner corner.  I always pair this bold eye look with a nude lip and strong highlighter.  The above look was created by the lovely and talented Naomi Cormack (who's Instagram I've linked) in Inglot. I went in knowing exactly what I wanted and being very very particular and she created it perfectly for me! All products used were of course Inglot and there were honestly too many to list or remember. It's the kind of look that as long as you have the shades and the pigment, anyone can create it.
I recreated the look at home myself using the NYX Beauty Sch…

Living with Depression and Anxiety

This is a post that I went back and forth with about writing. It's obviously a very personal topic but I want something positive to come from my experience. If I can help or impact just one person then writing this post will be worth it. The best way I can think of doing this is through a timeline so I'm going to start from the beginning up until now.

Just a quick disclaimer that I feel obliged to include: This post is in no way attention seeking or pity seeking. I merely want to 1) explain my absence and 2) use my experience to help people perhaps understand what it's like to have depression and anxiety and maybe help anyone who themselves are going through it.

Without any further rambling, here's my journey with depression and anxiety so far...

October/November: The Symptoms
During this time I had begun to feel symptoms that I would soon find out were all related to depression and severe anxiety.
When I was 14, I was bullied in school and isolated from friends and had…

Blog Relaunch // Where Have I been?

Welcome to the relaunch of Sequins and Secrets!!! As you can see I've made some new changes around here so I hope y'all can make yourself comfortable! You're probably all thinking I'm the worst blogger around for being MIA for so long but I'm hoping to turn a new page and start fresh!  If you're wondering where I've been and why I haven't been posting for so long, there will be a blogpost to come explaining everything.
With the blog relaunch, I'm using this opportunity to widen the aspects of the blog and include features on topics non beauty or fashion related. You might find it informational and interesting. I'm just using this platform to at least reach one person and perhaps help them and impact them in a positive way. While I've been away in the meantime, I recently uploaded my very first makeup and hair tutorial on YouTube which I will link right here >>>> My YouTube Channel Until the next post I hope you enjoy my YouTube …

My Fun Hair Color Journey

Image
Since I was about 15 I LOVED dying my hair fun rainbow colors. I've been blonde since birth and sometimes get sick of it so I like having some fun different hair every so often to shake things up.  As I'm sure all of you can tell from the blog, my fav color is pink. 90% of the things I own are pink. I'm actually wearing pink as I type this.

When I was about 15 I was finally allowed to dye my hair a fun color. The only thing my mom would let me do was get a little streak and at the the time I was a big fan of Avril Lavigne so I got her classic pink streak from the back in the day.
These are the best photos I have to show you. Let's please not judge 15 year old Emily.
This ended up being a little bit of a disaster. I had gotten it done in the States at a beauty school. It was a spur of the moment kind of thing.  Whatever temporary dye they used, It actually ended up permanently staining my hair for about two years.  So, I had a GINGER streak in my hair for two years. No…

Review: Bleach London Rosé Hair Dye & Shampoo and Conditioner

Image
If you follow me on Instagram (if you don't you should) you would have seen that in the last couple of months I've gone from having blonde hair to having pink hair, back to being blonde, to having pink hair again and it's just been a long cycle!  After using several temporary pink hair dyes, I have FINALLY found one that does not stain my blonde hair!  Because of the job I have, I can't have super fun colored hair so when I went on vacation for weeks this summer, I wanted to take advantage of the freedom and quench my thirst for fun hair. It had to be gone by the time I was back in work so I needed to find one that wouldn't stain and stay forever.  After extensive research and asking others for help, I finally found a candy floss pastel pink hair dye that was EXACTLY what I wanted! That hair dye was Bleach London in Rosé which is only €8.99 in Boots and every so often part of their 3 for 2 offer! With the help of my BFF, we applied about a bottle and a half to all…

First Impression: Urban Decay One & Done

Image
To begin, I am a huge fan of Urban Decay products. I've given my skin a break from foundation for awhile so lately I was just using the Urban Decay Naked Skin BB Cream instead of a foundation which I was loving.  Unfortunately, my BB Cream was running out and I decided to give the new One and Done product a try! I'd seen a few bloggers and beauty gurus give it shot so I thought I would too. I've never been disappointed with a product from Urban Decay so I thought it was a safe bet! On the Urban Decay website, they said this about the product:  "Naked Skin One & Done Hybrid Complexion Perfector combines all the benefits of skin treatment and protection with the coverage of a sheer foundation." They even go on to say that there is no need for foundation as this product evens out skin tone and blurs imperfections.  They conducted a clinical study which results said:  "a majority of participants had an immediate improvement in the look of skin tone that lasted…

What's in My Gym Bag?

Image
This has been a highly requested post on what I bring to the gym with me! I may not use all of the products below every time I go but I have used them all at one stage or another! Sometimes, post workout, I'll go to the pool so a lot of the products are for showering and after showering at the gym!  First things first, bag! Now, I'm completely loyal to all things Nike and this is to be honest, the PERFECT size bag! It seems a little big but I can fit all of my gym gear, towel, and a complete outfit for after the gym. It's called the Brasilia Small Duffel Bag which I purchased at JD Sports for €30 which I find quite reasonable for a Nike product and for one of its size! It's got two pockets at the side. One is the size as you can see and the other actually has a bigger pocket so it extends into the main body of the bag. I put my beauty products in the smaller side pocket and dirty gym clothes in the bigger one for after my workout to keep it separate!
Now, there's …
